Services for John Wallace "Nig" Lindsey, Sr. will be held Wednesday, October 30, 2019 11:00 AM graveside in Sidon Cemetery

Mr. Lindsey, age 79, died on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at his residence.

He was born on March 30, 1940 in Sidon, MS, to the late Thomas Jefferson Lindsey, Jr. and Iva Lee Mann Lindsey and resided there all his life. He was a retired farmer. Mr Lindsey was a member of Sidon United Methodist Church where he was baptized at the age of 13 by Rev. Claude Johnson. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling to the mountains and Florida with his family, and growing vegetables in his garden to give to his friends. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Joyce Lindsey of Sidon, MS; two sons, John W. (Cheryl) Lindsey, Jr. of Sidon, MS, and Joseph M. Lindsey of Yuma, AZ; daughter, Susan Elizabeth Lindsey (Ralph) Ford of Licking, MO; brother, Tommy (Barbara) Lindsey of Sidon, MS; sister, Lynette Wier of Greenwood, MS; six grandchildren, Falon (Tate) Harris, Lake (Nicole) Lindsey, Hope Lindsey (Jeff) Wilson, Joseph Walton Lindsey, Jacob (Taylor Lott) Lindsey, and Wallace Pierce Ford; and four great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood. Rev. Andy Ray will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Lake Lindsey, Jacob Lindsey, Mark Boone, Joseph Lindsey, and Pierce Ford. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Charles Nause, Guy Ray, Bruce and Ann Dunbar, and Cole and Linda Dally.
