Mr. Laurance Nicholas Chandler III, 76, passed away on Thursday evening, May 3, 2018. Visitation and reception will be on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS, followed by the service at 2:00 PM.

Nick was born in Greenwood and lived most of his life in Leflore County. A graduate of Greenwood High School, he served in the U.S. Navy before graduating from Ole Miss with a bachelor's degree in Sociology, and later a master's degree from Ole Miss in Urban Planning. He was a farm owner and worked for the Mississippi Levee Board before retiring in 2013. He adored his family, but above all else, he loved the Lord faithfully.

He is survived by his son, Hunt Chandler (Jessica) of Memphis; his sister, Swift Rogers of New Albany; his nephews, Graham Rogers (Michele) of Laurel and Chandler Rogers (Carrie) of New Albany; his grandchildren, Anne Chandler of Memphis and Will Chandler of Bozeman, Montana; and his great nephews and niece, Gray, Brooks, and Susannah Rogers of Laurel.

Memorials may be sent to the Leflore County Sheriff's Department or the charity of the donor's choice.
