Linda Jane Mims Nelms , 66, of Greenwood, MS, died Saturday, March 11, 2023. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Lehrton Cemetery in Ruleville, MS. Rev. Chad Bowen will officiate.

Mrs. Nelms was born January 2, 1957 to James Greely Mims and Ruth Evelyn Dees Mims. She was a devout Christian of the Baptist faith. She was always willing to give all she had to anyone in need. She freely gave in love and spirit to all she met. Being a nurse for 37 years, she was able to share this love to so many and always treated every patient with dignity, respect, and compassion.

The true pride and joy in her life were her grandchildren. She showered them in love and affection at every opportunity. This love and affection did not end with her family as any acquaintance she made quickly became a part of Granny's family. She loved all them, and they all loved their Granny.  The other joy in her life was her baby and companion, Chance. She loved that Pomeranian with her whole heart, taking him everywhere she went. She loved spending time with her family and giving to charities. She always loved a good sale and all things sparkly.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her beloved children, John Nelms III and wife Amanda of Brandon, MS, Angela Caffey and husband Conner of Winona, MS, and  Jennifer Ferguson and husband David of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, Tiffany Nelms, Maisyn Barragan, Julionna Barragan, Madison Caffey, Hallie Caffey, Abby Caffey, Jackson Ferguson, Noah Ferguson, Lily Ferguson, and Ella Caffey.
