Services for Loretta Regina Weldon will be held Wednesday May 18, 2016 11:00 AM at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS.
Mrs. Weldon, age 68 died on Monday May 16, 2016 at her residence after a battle with cancer.
She was born on September 24, 1947 in Warwick, NY to the late John and Nellie Mikrut Van Duzer and lived in Teoc, MS. A beloved wife, mother and sister, Loretta was known for her inimitable style and her love of animals. Retired after years of working side by side with her husband as a medical assistant, she delighted in her family, friends and menagerie of rescued animals, always dressed in her signature pink - the Zsa Zsa to her husband's Eddie Albert (the Green Acres couple).
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Thomas Weldon of Teoc, MS, one son, Thomas Weldon Jr. of Teoc, MS, one daughter, Laura Weldon of Longmont, CO, five sisters: Gloria (Bob) Stormes of NJ, Esther (Bill) Storms of NJ, Marlene O'Toole of PA, Delores Van Duzer of NJ, Linda (Joe) Del Bagno of NJ, and two brothers Jim Van Duzer of NJ and John (Rose) Van Duzer of NJ. Mrs. Weldon is preceded by a brother Frank "Skip" Van Duzer.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 17, 2016 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood. Rev. Lanny Haley will officiate the services. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Flautt and Dr. Rafique. Burial will be in Moore's Memorial Cemetery in Carroll County following the service at the funeral home.
Wilson & Knight is in charge. Memorials may be made to Greenwood Leflore Hospital Foundation and The Greenwood Humane Society.
