Louise Parks Upchurch , 83, of Alexandra, LA, formerly of Itta Bena died Saturday, April 8, 2017 at her residence. Services will be Friday, April 14, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the funeral home. Rev. Gary Tanner will officiate at the services. Interment will follow in Itta Bena Cemetery

Mrs. Upchurch was born November 8, 1933 in Boydell, AR, to Joe C. Parks and Mollie M. Burks. She was a native of Greenwood, MS, and also lived in Itta Bena, MS. Mrs. Upchurch was a member of First Baptist Church in Greenwood, MS. In previous years she was a Red Cross Volunteer at the Lake Chico Memorial Hospital, Lake Village, AR. In August of 1979, she was inducted as a member of the Greenwood Professional and Business Women's Club and was recognized among Women in Business by the National Picture Frame Company. Mrs. Upchurch was an employee and investor of National Picture Frame Company for over 30 years.

Louise was a loving and consummate mother and grandmother. She was an excellent cook who enjoyed baking and entertaining for family and friends. She was also an avid gardener and enjoyed attending to her flowers. Fishing with Bill Upchurch was a favorite pass time.  Louise had an unwavering faith in God. She had a gentle manner, but was a strong person when others were in need of comfort and guidance. Many times she assisted and provided goodwill to those in need. Preceding her in death was her spouse of 30 years, William "Bill" Oakley Upchurch, her parents, brothers, Marlin Parks, Clarence Parks, O.D. Parks, and Elmer Parks, and sister, Viola Ricks.

She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Schenks Rougeau and husband Wilson of Leesville, LA, and Jerrie Schenks Taylor Massey and husband Buck of Leesville, LA; son, Michael Wade Schenks and wife Kim Grace of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Wilson Rougeau, Jr. of Leesville, LA, Jason Rougeau and wife Courtney of Leesville, LA, Crystal Lynn Schenks of Falls Mills, VA, Christopher Schenks of Starkville, MS; great-grandchildren, Raychel White of Baker, VA, Shane White, Jr. of Falls Mills, VA, Victoria White of Falls Mills, VA, Grace-Elizabeth Rougeau and Lilly-Ann Rougeau of Leesville, LA; sister, Faye Parks Knight of Greenwood, MS, brother, William Lee Parks and wife Donna of Shawnee Missions, KS; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Buck Massey, Jason Rougeau, Ronnie Knight, Clarence Parks, Jr., Chip Upchurch, and Chuck Upchurch.

Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
