Services for Mamie Zell Gammill Sims will be held Sunday, December 18, 2016 2:00 PM at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS.
Mrs. Sims, age 87, died on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Golden Age Nursing Home.
She was born on May 22, 1929 in Tutwiler, MS, to the late Robert Elzie and Velma Bishop Gammill and resided in the Greenwood area most of her life. Mrs. Sims was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Greenwood. She worked at Baldwin Piano, Baptist Children's Village, and was a seamstress most of her life.
She is survived by a Son, Kelso Gammill Sims of Muscle Shoals, AL; four grandchildren, Stephanie Starkie of Denver, CO, Blair Rowe of Olive Branch, MS, Savannah Sims of Florence, AL, and Eli Sims of Muscle Shoals, AL; two great grandchildren, Elaina Starkie, and Brooklyn Starkie, and a sister, Rose Teal of Greenwood, MS.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2016 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood. Rev. Lanny Haley will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Bob Gammill, Quentin Gammill, Grant Gammill, Toby Gammill, Howard Alderman, and Chase Downing. Honorary Pallbearers will be Guy Gammill, and Ricky Gammill. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Baptist Children's Village. Wilson and Knight is in charge.
