Margaret Garrison Barger, of Greenwood, MS, died January 6, 2015. Born December 6, 1926, Margaret grew up in Sylvia, KS, graduated from high school in Hutchinson, KS, and attended Kansas State College, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Home Economics. She was married to Ray Barger on June 5, 1948 and they were married for 35 years before his death in 1984.

During her life she was a loyal and committed member of St. John's United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Methodist Youth Fellowship, served on many committees, sang in the choir, sewed curtains, made carpet murals, among many other acts of service. She served on the Board of the United Methodist Hour, and was active in United Methodist Women on the local and district levels. Margaret was also a strong supporter of the Boys and Girls Club of Leflore County, where she served on the Board.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, her parents, Lucille and J.B. Garrison, and brothers, Max, Chuck, and Keith Garrison. She is survived by her children, Don and Gail Barger; David and Becky Barger; Mark and Beth Barger; and a Nancy and Billy Mink. Thirteen grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, her brother, Kent Garrison, her sisters-in-law, and many beloved nieces and nephews also survive her.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 6:00 pm on Friday, January 9th at St. John's United Methodist Church. The service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 10th at St. John's United Methodist Church.
