Margie Laverne Goss Norwood, 91, of Greenwood, MS, died Friday, May 31, 2024 at Country Meadow Personal Care Home. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home with visitation from 9:30 AM until service time with Rev. Larry Shackleford officiating. Interment will be 2:00 PM Wednesday in Centerville Cemetery.

Mrs. Norwood was born February 9, 1933 in Carroll County to the late Dent Henry Goss and Laura Lou McDonald Goss. She was a graduate of Greenwood High School and member of Lighthouse Ministries Church of Greenwood. She was the former owner of Goss Grocery and retired in 1987 from the Leflore County Schools as a teacher's assistant. She enjoyed ministering and singing at Golden Age Nursing Home. She also loved her dogs and cutting her grass. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 42 years, Gene S. Norwood; and brother, Alton Dent Goss.

She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Mounce Salmon (Robert) of Charleston, MS; Rhonda Mounce Drummond (James) of Greenwood, MS, four grandchildren, Leslie Salmon Moore (Tony), Peyton Salmon Brown (Bradley), Michelle Long Fuehr (Jeremy), and Nicole Long Hokett (Jim Holly); and nine great grandchildren, Andrew Heafner, Salmon Heafner, Shelby Boone, Autumn Boone, Asher Hokett, Ethan Hokett, Annabella Hokett, Hank Holly, Jonas Fuehr.

Her family wishes to thank her sitters, Velma Bowman, Dorothy Streater, Madison Richardson, Barbara Dunn, Tammy Holcomb, Shirley Ivory, Earline Robertson, Helen Ivory. Also thanks to Rebecca and Danny Edwards and the staff at Country Meadow Personal Care Home for taking such good care of her.
