Marian Mills Boswell, of Greenwood, MS, died Monday, November 12, 2018 in Franklin, TN. She was born September 1, 1921 in Ithaca, NY, to Josephine Schaus Mills and Harold Strycker Mills, both of Southampton, NY, while Mr. Mills was teaching at Cornell University. Mrs. Boswell attended L.S.U. and was a resident of Greenwood since 1945 and summered most of her life in Southampton, NY.

Mrs. Boswell was a member of First Presbyterian Church and an honorary life member of Women of the Church having served as President, Vice-President, Secretary, Circle Chairman, and member of the WOC Board of Directors. She was a former member of Junior Auxiliary, Greenwood Woman's Club, Disaster Committee of the Red Cross, and Leflore County Chapter of Infantile Paralysis, of which she was a co-chairman and board member. She was also a Commonwealth Homemaker of the Week in the 50's.

Mrs. Boswell was a member and past President of Four Seasons Garden Club. She served as President and Vice-president of Friends of Cottonlandia and was awarded Life Membership after 40 years of volunteer service to the museum. She was a former member of the Board of Directors of the Cottonlandia Foundation.

Mrs. Boswell was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Andrew Hemphill Boswell, Sr. and grandson, David Andrew Boswell. She is survived by her children, Dr. Andrew Hemphill Boswell, Jr. (Dena) of Franklin, TN, Josephine Boswell Flautt of Greenwood, Shirley Boswell Cutliff (Dave) of Jacksonville, FL, and Walter Ira Boswell (Carolyn) of Southaven, MS. She leaves 15 grandchildren: Graham Flautt, Katherine Howard, Ruth Brown, Sarah Prewitt, Esther Kirn, Hannah Bryant, Jonathan Boswell, Deborah Kaminsky, Martha Brock, Joseph Cascio, Merrel Patridge, Anne Todd Lockwood, Helen Simpkins, Carolyn Hawkins, and Walter Boswell, Jr. She is also survived by 36 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at First Presbyterian Church in Greenwood from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. service time on Saturday, November 17 ^, 2018. Dr. Rusty Douglas will officiate the service. The internment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Pallbearers are: Graham Flautt, Drew Howard, Walter Boswell, Jr., Mike Prewitt, David Hudson, Tom Flanagan, Pat Chambless, and Craig Brewer.
