Marie Barranco Aldridge, 75, of Greenwood, MS, born June 30, 1947, passed away Monday, February 6, 2023 at Methodist Hospice in Memphis, TN.
She is survived by her two sons, Brad Aldridge (Ellie) of Hernando, MS, and Lee Aldridge (McCall) of Nesbit, MS; grandchildren, Libby Aldridge, Hollyn Aldridge, and Evie Aldridge; three brothers, Michael Barranco of Greenwood, MS, Sam Barranco (Kathy) of Meridian, MS, and Vince Barranco (Marjorie) of Oxford, MS; sister, JoAnn Barranco of Grenada, MS; as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Aldridge was preceded in death by her husband, John Baker Aldridge, and her parents, Charles and Tena Barranco.
Mrs. Aldridge was a graduate of Grenada High School and received her Bachelor's degree from Delta State University. She was a teacher for a number years at Pillow Academy before choosing to serve her family as a stay-at-home mom. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church where she served as secretary for more than thirty years. Marie was also a member of the Lebonte Women's Club in Greenwood where she served in various roles.
Services will be held at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home on Thursday, February 16, at 10:00 AM with visitation starting at 9:00 AM. Father Andrew Nguyen will officiate. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Charles Barranco, Cameron Barranco, Don White, Jody Acosta, Brad McDonald, and David Nolan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation, P.O. Box 4777, New York 10163.
Wilson and Knight Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
