Private family services for Martha Joyce McKibben Smith were held Friday, May 6, 2022.

Mrs. Smith, age 92, died on Monday, May 2, 2022 at Golden Age Nursing Home in Greenwood, MS.

She was born on September 18, 1929 to the late Dana Albert McKibben and Joyce Johnson McKibben in Calhoun County, MS, and resided in the Greenwood area most of her life.

Martha was a dedicated lifelong employee of Southern Burial Insurance Company and Wilson and Knight Funeral Home, where she was organized and meticulous, in addition to her early embracing of cutting edge computer software, business management systems, and recordkeeping.  She was a wonderful cook and shared her culinary talents with many friends and family through the years.  Most of all Martha loved her family and her dogs.  She was a member of First Christian Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Wardine "Smitty" Smith; son, Wilbur Wardine "Bill" Smith, Jr., and a stepson, Jerry Smith.

She is survived by her daughter, Pollyanna Coffey of Statesville, NC, and daughter in law, Charlotte Smith of Carrollton, MS.

The family extends a special thanks to Dr. Michael Boler, Dr. Syed Rafique, and the staff of Golden Age Nursing Home.
