Services for Mary Evelyn Burns will be held on Monday, November 14, 2022 2:00 PM at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home with Rev. Butch Nowlin officiating.

Mrs. Burns, age 70, died on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville, MS.

She was born on April 8, 1952 in Oak Grove, LA, to the late Robert Patterson and Juanita Patterson and resided in Sidon, MS. She retired from Golden Age Nursing Home as a LPN after 25 years of service. She is preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, J.B. Patterson; son, James DeFreese; granddaughter, Katie Leigh Anne Hill; and a great grandson, Lakavion Coffer.

She is survived by her husband, James N. Burns of Sidon, MS; daughters, Patricia Redd, of Sidon, MS, and Sherri Redd of GA; brothers, Bruce (Brenda) Patterson of Leland, MS, and Mike (Faith) Patterson of Oak Grove, LA; sisters, Regina Scott, of Coila, MS, and Karen (Lonnie) Bennett of Oak Grove, LA; nine grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 14, 2022 from 12:00 PM till 2:00 PM at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers will be Hosea Patterson, Everette Patterson, Blake Patterson, Daniel Scott, Damian Scott, and Brandon Clunan.
