Services for Mary Ellen Callens will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 1:00 PM at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS, with Jerry D. Callens officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 5:00 PM till 7:00 PM at the funeral home and from noon until service time on Friday. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows East Cemetery.

Mrs. Callens was born November 5, 1937 in Magnetic Springs, OH, to the late William L. Fletcher and Virginia McAllister Fletcher. She was raised in Searcy, AR, and lived in Greenwood since 1966. She was a member of West President Church of Christ. She retired from the Leflore County Schools after 35 plus years of service. She was a Christian servant who would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert James Callens.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sonna Jean (Bob) Mims of Holcomb, MS, and Robin Dee Callens of Greenwood, MS; two sons, Jerry Duane (Debbie) Callens of Gainesville, FL, and Paul Anthony (Renea) Callens of Tupelo, MS, ten grandchildren, Clif (Kristi) Mims, Clay (Nina) Mims, Chad (Beth) Mims, Christa (Kris) King, Megan (Chris) Eppler, Brittany Poniatowski (Janek), Alaina Poole (Skyler), Lianna Callens, Olivia Callens, and Neal Callens; and seventeen great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Clif Mims, Clay Mims, Chad Mims, Neal Fletcher Callens, Kris King, Janek Poniatowski, Skyler Poole, Zack Mims, Zeb Mims, Tyler King, Bryson King, Hunter Mims, Colt Mims, Jake Mims, Neil Patrick Eppler, Dylan Lankford, and Landon Mims.
