Mary Margarette "Margie" Galey

Services for Mary Margarette "Margie" Tate Galey will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2022 11:00 AM at Mt Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Leon Holly Officiating.

Mrs. Galey, age 95, died on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Country Meadows Personal Care Home in Greenwood, MS.

She was born on April 15, 1927 in Blackhawk, MS, to the late Robert Lee Tate, Sr. and Ollie Meriwether Tate. She resided in Carroll County all of her life and was a member of Mt Olive Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, George W. Galey; son, Terry Galey; two brothers, Albert Watson Tate and Robert Lee Tate, Jr.; and two sisters, Elizabeth Tate Perry and Irene Tate Baugus.

She is survived by her son, Jerry (Sandra) Galey of Greenwood, MS; daughter in law, Donna Galey of Greenwood, MS; brother, Billy Tate of Sidon, MS; six grandchildren, Brad (Amanda) Galey, Michael (Ashlea) Galey, Matthew Galey, Jason Galey, Colby (Geney) Galey, and Jennifer (Brent) Marshall; eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the church. Pallbearers will be Matthew Galey, Michael Galey, Brad Galey, Colby Galey, Jason Galey, and Bob Tate. Interment will follow in Mt Olive Cemetery.
