Mary Elizabeth Wylie, 92 of Greenwood died Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. Visitation will be 3:30 p.m. to 5p.m. Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home and 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Monday, October 20, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church in Greenwood. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 20, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church in Greenwood. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Monday, October 20, 2014 at Garden of Memories in Oxford, MS. Dr. Rusty Douglas will officiate. Wilson & Knight Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wylie was born September 20, 1922 in Morgan City, MS to David Childers and Flora Elna Holland. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Food and Nutrition from the Mississippi University for Women and was a member of the American Dietetic Association. As a registered dietician, she worked for many years at the Greenwood Leflore Hospital and the University of Mississippi. Mrs. Wylie was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she was active in the women's organizations, she was involved in the Night Circle and the Morning Circle. She did volunteer work with the Greenwood Food Pantry and mission work with her husband Alva Lewis Wylie, Jr. with the J.D.C. in her husband's prisons ministry. She enjoyed serving the Lord and spending time with her family. Her church with its ministers and members were very important to her. She was preceded in death by her two sisters Bernice Curry and Anice Lee Holloway and her brother Harris Holland.

Mrs. Wylie is survived by her husband Alva Lewis Wylie of Greenwood, MS, son Al Wylie, III and wife Val of Brandon two daughters Babbs Wylie of Greenwood and Margaret Riales and husband Lynn of Greenwood. She is also survived by two grandchildren Hart Wylie and Megan Wylie of Brandon, MS and her great-grandchild Madeline Wylie of Brandon, MS and her brother Pete Holland and wife Jane of Houston, TX.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Wilkins, Todd Fincher, Larry Crawford, Johnny Jennings, Mike Sturdivant, Jr. Floyd Melton III, Moss Melton and Glen Beckham. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Wax, Danny Hart, Jess White, Tom Askew, Robert Powers, and Dudley Pleasants.
