Melvis Clyde Woody, Jr., died Sunday, November 27, 2022, at his home in Hernando, Mississippi.

Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood, Mississippi.  A graveside service will follow at 11:00 am in Odd Fellows East Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Scott Wright officiating.

Mel was born in West Memphis, Arkansas, on August 6, 1956, to Melvis Clyde Woody and Joann McComb Woody.  He graduated from Greenwood High School in 1974.  He was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying and riding motorcycles with his friends.  He was a real estate appraiser.

He is survived by his sister, Karen Woody Archer (Ray); brother, Gary Woody (Cindy); three nephews, Scott Archer, Jason Archer, and Thomas Woody; and a niece, Elizabeth Woody Vaughan.

Pallbearers will be Evan Hoover, Van Hoover, Mark Miller, Mike Hanson, Orlando Toten, and Steve Riley. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Woods, Alvin Woods, Doug Walker, and Charles Dallas.
