Micah Wind
Davis
Feb 7, 1978 — Aug 1, 2026
Micah Wind Davis, 48, of Prairieville, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Baton Rouge General, surrounded by his loving family and friends after a courageous and unwavering battle with colon cancer.
Micah was born on Mardi Gras Day, February 7, 1978, in Covington, Louisiana, and proudly considered himself a product of the North Shore. His childhood brimmed with adventure, shaping a lifelong love for the outdoors—an early reflection of the zest for life that defined him. There was never a dull moment with Micah around; his vibrant spirit and magnetic personality drew people in effortlessly, creating bonds that lasted a lifetime—the "Micah effect," as his family fondly called it.
Upon entering Millsaps College, he would become the sole spiritual leader of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity within minutes of picking up his jersey on bid day. While no individual man could ever have kept up this role and energetic leadership for a lifetime, Micah did exactly that for those fraternity men, always being the glue that held them together to this day. He showed early promise in computer science, graduating with a Bachelor's of Science degree, and beginning his career in Information Technology sales, project management, and disaster recovery.
While still at Millsaps, he met his future wife and love of his life, Brittany Gueringer, while she was at LSU, and they married after college on his birthday in 2004 at Oak Lodge in Baton Rouge. Moving to Texas after Hurricane Katrina, they welcomed the birth of the oldest daughter, Maggie, in Houston, and the birth of their baby daughter, Mia, in Round Rock, before spending many years in Georgetown, eventually moving back to Baton Rouge, Louisiana a few years ago.
Micah's many friends will always recount his magnanimous spirit, and his family will remember him always as a loving husband, father, the best "girl dad," son, and brother, coupled with being the most gregarious, charming and BEST human ever! He thrived on people, bringing family and friends together for crawfish boils, football games, and any reason to celebrate, while delivering his legendary big hugs, red beans and rice, and being the natural center of every universe he encountered.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Brittany, and their two children, Maggie and Mia, as well as his mother, Carmen Mauldin (Michael), father, Stephen Davis (Sheryl), brothers, Lorian Davis, Braden Davis and Joshua Davis (Maya), sisters, Kirsten Davis Perez (Esteban), Arianna Davis and Brittani Davis, mother in law, Robyn "Lollie" Gueringer and his four legged best buddy, Goose.
A casual Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 8th, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Oak Lodge in Baton Rouge.
The family request no flowers please.
