Services for Michael Adrian Sheppard will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2020 2:00 PM at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS.

Mr. Sheppard, a longtime resident of Jackson, MS, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2020 at the age of 44, surrounded by family at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS.

Michael was born on September 10, 1975 in Greenwood, MS, to Adrian and Barbara Sheppard of Tchula, MS. After graduating high school, he went to work for the Canadian National Illinois Central railroad where he excelled through various positions within the company. He was a devoted father and grandfather who enjoyed the outdoors, riding ATVs in the mountains, cruising on his motorcycle, and he often could be found working under the hood of a random car. He was a loyal friend to many. He is predeceased by his father, Adrian Sheppard, maternal grandparents, Ada and Grover Duke, and his paternal grandparents, Levi and Irene Sheppard.

Michael is survived his wife, Jessica Sheppard of Jackson, MS; children, Sean Sheppard of Springfield, MO, Dacia Sheppard of Effingham, IL, Michael Sheppard of Carrollton, MS, Hannah Sheppard of Jackson, MS, Jackson Sheppard of Jackson, MS, and Isabella Sheppard of Jackson, MS; grandchild, SeKani Pevey of Jackson, MS; mother, Barbara Sheppard of Carrollton, MS; brothers, Matthew Sheppard (Becka) of New York, NY, and Levi Sheppard (Christina) of Brandon, MS; uncles, Neal Duke (Debbie) of Birmingham, AL, and Mac Sheppard (Caroline) of Braxton, MS; mother in law and father in law, Billy and Donna Davis of Madison, MS; grandparents in law, Rufus and Beverly Hendon of Madison, MS; and a host of niece and nephews who adored their uncle Mike.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2020 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Rev. Keith Ramage and Rev W.G. Bryant will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Levi Sheppard, Adrian Sheppard, Davis Minor, Richard Hill, Del Larson, George Doby, Chris McQuitter, and Aaron Fedrick. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jackson Sheppard, Sean Sheppard, Matt Sheppard, Billy Davis, Rufus Hendon, and Brendon Minor. Interment will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
