Michael Gibb Thomas, 42, of Coila, MS, died Thursday, June 11, 2026. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hillview Baptist Church with visitation 9:30 a.m. service time in the church. Rev. David Bartlett will officiate. Interment will follow in Harmony Cemetery.

Michael was born March 31, 1984, in Greenwood, MS, to Michael Thomas and Judy Harrell Harmon. He was a member of Hillview Baptist Church. He was a truckdriver for many years. He also was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to garden and cook. Michael was a loving husband, father, son, and brother. He was preceded in death by his brother, Mikey Harmon, sister, Mandy Norwood, maternal grandparents, Plaze and Freddie Whatley and paternal grandparents, Floyd and Margaret Thomas.

He is survived by his wife, Ashley Phillips Thomas of Coila, MS; sons, Michael Gibb Thomas, Jr.  and wife Eowyn, and Ashton Thomas, daughter, Isabella Thomas all of Black Hawk, MS; grandson, Thatcher Thomas of Blackhawk, MS; mother, Judy and Mike Harmon of Teoc, MS; father, Mike and Becky Thomas of Blackhawk, MS; sisters, Amy McClain and Brittany Thomas; brother, Scotty Harmon; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Michael Gibb Thomas, Jr., Ashton Thomas, Lane Goss, Casey McClain, Jonnathan Evans, Austin Meriwether, Scotty Harmon, and Jimmy Gentry. Honorary pallbearers will be the late Jay Taylor Evans and the late Mikey Harmon.
