Myra Grantham Leigh , 82, passed away Friday, September 30, 2022 at Indywood Glen surrounded by her children. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Black Hawk Cemetery with Rev.  Dr. Scott Wright officiating.

Myra was born April 12, 1940 in Greenwood, MS, to Gresham and Leona Madden Grantham. She grew up in Itta Bena and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1958. After numerous years of working as a bookkeeper at various businesses, she retired from Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in 2019 and moved back to Greenwood the following year.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years, Marion Evon Leigh; sisters, Mamie G. Brummett, Falbie G. Herrington, Cloyce G. Gregg, and  Joyce G. Brewer; and brothers, Gresham T. Grantham, Jr., and Larry O. (Biddy) Grantham.

Survivors include one daughter, Carla L. Makamson (Reece) of Greenwood, MS; two sons, Danny K. Leigh of Black Hawk, MS, and Kevin B. Leigh of Brandon, MS; three granddaughters; Memrie Allison McCaleb, Maggie Makamson Gilliland (Tyler), and Amanda Leigh Perry (Brock); two great grandchildren, Emma and Grant Gilliland; sister, Wanda Grantham Gardener of Alton, MO; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to LeBonheur Children's Hospital, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Black Hawk Cemetery or the charity of donor's choice.
