Obituary

Nancy Napier Engle died peacefully at her home on January 15, 2017 in Greenwood, Mississippi.

Mrs. Engle was born in Aberdeen, Mississippi, on July 1, 1932. Her parents were Lucille Spraggins and Granville Sykes Napier. Mrs. Engle graduated from Aberdeen High School. She attended Millsaps College where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority. She was a member of the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America.

Mrs. Engle and The Reverend Michael Thomas Engle were married in Aberdeen, in December of 1951. While serving as an Episcopal priest in the Diocese of Mississippi, he was the rector at Grace Episcopal Church, Canton, All Saints Episcopal, Grenada, All Saints Episcopal, Tupelo, and The Church of the Nativity in Greenwood.

Mrs. Engle was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two sons, Granville Napier Engle and Michael Thomas Engle, Jr. She is survived by her three grandchildren, Melanie Campbell Engle Smith and her husband Robert, of Washington, DC, Granville Napier Engle II, of Hong Kong, and Michael Thomas Engle III and his wife Lauren, of Denver, Colorado; her sister-in-law, Mrs. Paul Edward Engle, Jr. of Jackson; and two great grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be held on January 17, 2016 at 11:00 AM in Aberdeen, Mississippi at the Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Camp Bratton Green, 157 Gray Center Road S, Canton, Mississippi, 39046. Wilson and Knight has been entrusted with Mrs. Engle's arrangements.
