Ophelia Williams Hall, 89, of Greenwood, MS, died on Tuesday,
December 11, 2018 at Delta Regional Medical Center in
Greenville, MS. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the First Christian Church in Greenwood. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time, with Rev. Perry Irvin officiating. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Ophelia was born June 28, 1929 to Augustus and Annie Jones in Mobile, AL. She graduated from Murphy High School in Mobile, was a longtime resident of Greenwood, and a member of First Christian Church since 1965, where she was the service chairman for many years and a member of the Christian Women's Fellowship. She was past president and treasurer of the Greenwood Women's Club, past president of the O'Bera Garden Club, a member and volunteer for the Museum of the Mississippi Delta, a member of the Board of Control for the Confederate Memorial Building, and a volunteer for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. She worked for the
Gold Bond Stamp Store for 20 years, as well as Gibson's and Fred's.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, L. W. (Bill) Williams,
and Otto W. Hall, four brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by her nieces, Marilyn McAndrews of Wilmington, DE, and Vickie (Steve) Rochelle of Raymond, MS; nephew, Steve Hoffman of Greenwood, MS; and June and James Kenwright of Greenwood, MS; grandchildren, Jason (Lindsey) Kenwright, and Jennifer (Stephen) Kimbriel of Birmingham, AL; five great grandchildren, Aniston, Griffin and Sara-Bentlee Kenwright, Sawyer and Swayze Kimbriel; three great nephews, and one great niece. Pallbearers will be Jason Kenwright, Michael Rochelle, Stephen Kimbriel, Steve Rochelle, Neil Forbes, and Les Sanders. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Henry Flautt, Steve Hoffman, James Kenwright, Drew Rochelle, and David McCuan.
