Patricia Courtney Jopp passed away Monday, July 17, 2017. Pat was born to Oliver and Ida Courtney of Lumberton, MS, on November 12, 1935. She married the love of her life, Charles Selden Jopp III (Skipper), in February of 1957.
Pat enjoyed tennis and played singles and doubles across the state. She was a renaissance fitness buff and many memories included her exercising along with Jack LaLanne. Pat also enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening, and her many Delta friends. She was the church secretary for the Episcopal Church of the Advent in Sumner, MS, for decades.
Pat is survived by her husband of 60 years, Skipper Jopp, of Webb, MS, son, Brad Jopp, of Cruger, MS, and daughter, Julia Jopp Bryan, of Crystal Springs, MS.
She leaves behind grandchildren, James Taylor Bryan, Jr. (Taylor), of Denver, CO, and Jenifer Bryan Hester, of Ft. Stewart, GA, and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Malcolm (Leona) Courtney, of Monticello, MS.
Pat is predeceased by her daughter, Jenifer Allen Jopp; parents, Oliver and Ida Courtney; brother, Dudley (Georgia) Courtney, of Dandridge, TN; and sisters, Faye Courtney Miller and Sarah Courtney Cameron of Lumberton.
Services will be Friday, July 21, 2017 at the Episcopal Church of the Advent in Sumner, MS, at 11 a.m. Visitation will precede the service from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m..
