Paul Meek Vaughn, age 73, died on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at UMMC Hospital in Jackson, MS.

Mr. Vaughn was born on November 19, 1949 in Greenwood, MS, to the late Howard Almon Vaughn and Velma Littleton Vaughn. He was a beloved resident of Blackhawk, MS, where he resided for many years until moving to Madison, MS, ten years ago. He retired from the Mississippi Department of Transportation after 40 years. He served in the U.S. Military as a Marine, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He earned the Purple Heart during the war as well as many other medals. He was a faithful member of Highland Colony Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

Mr. Vaughn is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sherry Turner Vaughn, and two sons, Christopher (Alisha) Vaughn of Madison, MS, and Jonathan (Alesha) Vaughn of Madison, MS. He also left behind four grandchildren whom he loved dearly; his grandson, Conner Vaughn, and three granddaughters, Evelyn Vaughn, Ann Marie Vaughn, and Addison Vaughn. He is also survived by one sister, Martha Faye Wiltshire (Roger) of Blackhawk, MS, one brother in law, Herbert Evans, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Vaughn is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Dorothy Lynn Welch, Frances Evans, and Martha Lynn Vaughn, and three brothers, Howard Morgan Vaughn, Jesse Wayne Vaughn, and Larry Edward Vaughn.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 22, 2023 from 12:00 pm -2:00 pm at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm in Odd Fellows Cemetery with Rev. Joel Richardson officiating the service. Pallbearers will be Brian Wiltshire, Chad Wiltshire, Gavin Wiltshire, Skooter Vaughn, Turner Vaughn, and Cohen Vaughn.
