Peggy Riales Jones, 78 of Carrollton died Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Country Meadow Personal Care Home. Services will be 2p.m. Friday, January 17, 2014 at Wilson & Knight Chapel. Visitation will be 1p.m. to 2p.m. Friday, January 17, 2014. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. Jones was born December 14, 1935 to Joseph Presson and Loraine Tate Riales. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Aberdeen and she was a longtime member of Carrollton United Methodist Church. Mrs. Jones loved gardening, interior decorating, cooking and playing duplicate bridge. She was a long time member of the Cherokee Rose Garden Club in Carrollton. She was preceded in death by her husband Master Sergeant Leland H. Jones, Jr. and her parents.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her sons Leland Howard Jones III (Beryl) of Carrollton, MS, David Riales Jones of Madison, MS, Joseph Matthew Jones, Sr. (Nina) of Oxford, MS and daughter Lori Jones Irvin of Hamilton, MS. She is also survived by her sister Barbara Riales Rayburn (Tommy) of Carrollton, MS and seven grandchildren; Jenifer Jones Houston (Lee)of North Carrollton, Leland Howard Jones IV of Arlington, VA, Kelly Jones of Brandon, MS, Sarah Catherine Irvin of Hamilton, MS, Cooper Hayes Cheshier, Lily Kate Madelyn Jones and Joseph Matthew Jones, Jr. of Oxford, MS. Her special friends include Margaret Hughes, Carolyn Rose, Eva Ford, and her sister-in-law Muffet Dunn.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Hughes, Stephen Jennings, Mike Rozier, and Dr. Tommy Rayburn III.
