Rayford Lee Roberts, Sr . 81, of Greenwood, MS, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. Services will be 11 a.m.   Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Rev. Brady Canright will officiate.

He was born September 9, 1936 in Rosedale, MS, to Dillard I. Roberts, Sr. and Mary Louise Downs Roberts. He was a graduate of Greenville High School and a member of First Baptist Church in Greenwood. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in the yard and shop. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his three granddaughters and his new great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Lee Roberts, Jr. and his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Fran Roberts of Greenwood, MS; daughter, Sherry Hemphill and husband Ray of Greenwood, MS; three brothers, Art Roberts and wife Nancy of Farmerville, LA, Howard Roberts and wife Faye of Clinton, MS, and Billy Roberts of Artesian, NM; three grandchildren, Morgan Stokes and husband Trey, Crystal Lee Odom and husband Charlie, and Sara Grace Hemphill, and one great-grandson, Towns Stokes.

Pallbearers will be Bob Givens, Charles Wright, Henry Nunley, Rick Roberts, Samuel Robinson, and Tommy Lindsey. Honorary pallbearers will be the Adult IV Men's Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
