Mr. Raymond Oakley Wilson of Carrollton, MS, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center at the age of 74.
Mr. Wilson, a 1962 graduate of Mississippi State University, was a member of North Carrollton United Methodist Church and a proud member of The Mississippi State University Bulldog Club. He was retired from the United States Air Force and Region 6 Mental Health. He loved the outdoors and traveling with his family on summer vacations. He was an avid fly fisherman. He was preceded in death by his parents, P.O. and Charlotte Wilson, one sister, Maxine Wolfe, and a son, David Lee Wilson.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth (Liz) Wilson of Carrollton, daughter, Teresa Vanlandingham and husband Byron of Brandon, grandsons, Byron Thomas Lowe II and David Lewis Lowe of Brandon and a great grandson, Brayden Parker Coley of Brandon.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood. Visitation will be from Noon until service time Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home. Rev. Ed Saunders will officiate at the services. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton.
Pallbearers will be Don Vanlandingham, Brian Vanlandingham, Myron Vanlandingham, Dr. Mitchell Costilow, George John Shackelford and Eddie Hammons.
