Obituary

Rebecca "Becky" Leigh Costill, age 70, of Anderson, South Carolina, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025, in Coila, MS. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2025, 10:00 AM at Covenant Baptist Church in Anderson, SC. Bro. Steve Sivley will officiate the services.

Becky was born on November 23, 1955, to Harold Bruce Costill and Phyllis June Estep Costill. She spent her life devoted to her family, her church, and her patients, retiring from a long and dedicated radiology career five years ago. She was known for her kind heart, wonderful sense of humor, unwavering strength, and deep generosity.

Becky loved gardening, canning, camping, hiking, and discovering local traditions while traveling throughout America. She was in awe of God's beauty across the country and made a yearly plan to navigate it. One of her favorite times of the year was Christmas, when she joyfully pulled out treasured family heirloom cookie recipes and baked for many to enjoy. She lived simply and faithfully—waking early each morning for devotion and coffee, a rhythm that reflected her steady and quiet faith.

She is survived by her daughter, Anna Chambers (Lee) of Coila, Mississippi; her son, Taylor Klemme of Anderson, South Carolina; and her beloved grandchildren, Sutton and Sawyer Chambers of Coila, Mississippi. She is also survived by her sisters, Linda Costill Reid (Gene) of Piedmont, South Carolina; Laura Costill Davis (Charles Perry) of Hernando, Mississippi; Kimberly Ann Hellums (Mike) of Oneonta, Alabama; and brother, David Allan Costill (Casey) of Greenville, South Carolina. She leaves behind a host of beloved nieces and nephews, a cherished best friend and travel buddy, Stacy White (Bruce) of Huron, Tennessee, and bonus daughter, Jaime Lynn Carpenter (Zack) of Carrollton, MS.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Teresa Lynn Costill; bonus son Blake Klemme II; and her granddaughter, Blakeleigh Susanna Chambers.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date at Covenant Baptist Church in Anderson, SC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child in her honor.
