Services for Rebecca Ashmore Jackson will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 2:00 PM at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home.

Mrs. Jackson, age 91, died on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at St Dominic Hospital in Jackson.

She was born on January 6, 1932 in Carrollton, MS, to James Ashmore and Ruby Riddle Ashmore. She resided in Carroll County and Leflore County all her life. She was a graduate of MS State College for Women in 1954 and received her master's degree from Ole Miss in 1971. She was an elementary school teacher at Bankston Elementary and Davis Elementary schools before becoming the librarian at Davis Elementary until her retirement.  She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband of 48 years, Ward Jackson, Sr.

She is survived by her son, Ward (Pamela) Jackson, Jr. of Grenada, MS; grandchildren, Tiffany Tilley, Albert Tilley, and Jessica Jackson; and great-grandchildren, Bentley Shriver, Vicky Gibbs, Rylee Tilley, Jessie Tilley, and Albert K. Tilley.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. Don Simmons will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Albert Tilley, Bentley Shriver, Lance Parent, Jon Jernigan, Ryan Jackson, and Dale Smith. Burial will be in Longview Cemetery.
