Services for Robert James Callens will be held Saturday September 12, 2015 11:00 AM at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS.

Mr. Callens, age 91 died on Wednesday September 09, 2015 at Greenwood Leflore Hospital of Heart Failure

Mr. Callens was born on August 14, 1924 in Micola, Missouri, to Dee A. and Florence Bizzell Callens and left high school to proudly serve his country and the U.S. Navy in World War II. After the war, he completed his high school education, moved to Greenwood in 1966 and later retired from the Department of Agriculture Cotton Division after 32 years of service. After his retirement, he graduated from the University of Missouri, and he was a member of the West President Church of Christ. He is preceded in death by a wife, Betty Sue Callens.

He is survived by Wife, Mary Ellen Callens of Greenwood, MS, two Daughters, Sonna Jean(Bob) Mims of Holcomb, MS, and Robin Dee Callens of Greenwood, MS, Two Sons, Jerry Duane (Debbie) Callens of Gainesville, FL, and Paul Anthony (Renea) Callens of Tupelo, MS, ten Grandchildren, Clif (Kristi) Mims, Clay (Nina) Mims, Chad (Beth) Mims, Christa (Kris) King, Megan (Chris) Eppler, Brittany Callens, Alaina Callens, Lianna Callens, Olivia Callens, and Neal Callens, and sixteen great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday September 11, 2015 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood. Mark Sheirs will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Burial will be in Odd Fellows East.
