Roger Hodge, 84, passed away unexpectedly Monday, November 4, 2013 at Greenwood Leflore Hospital. Services are 10 A. M. Friday November 8 at Wilson & knight Funeral Home with interment in Lehrton Cemetery in Ruleville. Rev. Brad Hodges and Rev. Glen Seefeld will officiate. Visitation is Thursday evening from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home.

Roger was born in Noxapater, MS to John and Elsie Mae Hodge, on December 17, 1928. He graduated with a degree in accounting From MS State University in 1950 and stayed a die-hard bulldog fan his entire life. He served in the United Stated Air force during the Korean War. While in the Air Force he married Jo Ann Quinton. That was the beginning of a sixty-one year marriage. He was a CPA and partner in the Taylor, Powell, Wilson and Hartford accounting firm for 40 years. He was proud of his work there where they treated him like family. He was a Christian man and a member of the First United Methodist Church for nearly 60 years where he taught Sunday School and served on many committees.

Throughout his life he was an avid runner, tennis player, fisherman, hunter and gardner. He enjoyed spending time with family and loved to cook for large gatherings of people. He was an active vibrant man up until the day he died. He will be missed by many. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Charles Daniel, John Hayward, Jr., Alfred, Roy Ray, Durant, and sisters, Johnnie Mae and Nobie.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jo Ann, his sons, Zane and his wife Penny of Greenwood, MS, Quinton and his wife Rebecca of Laurel, MS, his daughters, Carol Ann Terrell and her husband Ronald of Ruleville, MS, Helen Wofford and her husband David of Gainesville, FL, his sister Mary Darby of Noxapater, MS, 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Tyler Gilliland, Drew Gilliland, Andrea Turner, Jeff Wofford, Daniel Wofford, Jessica Wofford, Harrison Hodge and Hayward Hodge.
