Rose "Smokie" Gammill Teal, of Greenwood, MS, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Golden Age Nursing Home. She was born December 5, 1931 in Tutwiler, MS, and she was employed at Norris Bookbinding Company for over 35 years before her retirement. Rose was a member of First Baptist Church, Greenwood, MS.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Elzie and Velma Bishop Gammill, grandson, Justin Galey, and a number of siblings. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra T. Galey (Darrell) of Ocean Springs, MS, Kay T Downing (Ben) of Morgan City, MS, and Amy Teal (Sherry Busch) of Memphis, TN. She is also survived by five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Sunday, May 6, 2018, 2:00PM at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home. Visitation will held from 12:00pm till service time. Rev. Dennis McKay will officiate the services. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Howard Alderman, Grant Gammill, Bob Gammill, K.G. Sims, Toby Gammill, and Anthony Gammill.
The Family would like to thank Golden Age Nursing Home, especially Martha Davis and the staff of the Green Wing, for their exceptional care.
