Obituary

Roy Keith Booker , 92, of Carrollton, MS, died Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home, followed by a 2:30 p.m. graveside service in Evergreen Cemetery. Rev. Phillip McRae will officiate.

Mr. Booker was born December 16, 1926 to Roy Maynard Booker and Irma Lanette Brent Booker. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and attended Shongalo Presbyterian Church. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the USS Lexington. He was a member of the Keesler-Hamrick-Gillespie American Legion Post #29. He worked at Lays Sports Store and retired from Monroe Calculator Company. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and sports. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mamie Elizabeth Booker; brothers, Milton Eugene Booker and Denver Ralph Booker; and his parents.

Mr. Booker is survived by his son, Robert Keith Booker and wife Carolyn of Lake Village, AR; brother, Farrell Brent Booker of Columbus, MS; three grandchildren, Robert "Bo" Keith Booker II and wife Mandi of Petal, MS, Chasity Sheppeard and husband James of Greenville, MS, Misty Morlino and husband Greg of Leland, MS; and nine great grandchildren, Keith Booker, Lainee Booker, Reece Morlino, Jase Morlino, Cooper Sheppeard, Sydney Sheppard, Leanna Sheppeard, Shelby Sheppeard, and Tony Sheppeard.

Pallbearers will be Gary Ballard, Gary Vaughn, Wayne Lee, Gary Lee, Tony Wiggs, and David Wiggs.

Wilson & Knight Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
