Sam Ray Buchanan Biggers, 95 of Greenwood died Wednesday, December 1, 2015 at Greenwood Leflore Hospital. Services will be Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Wilson & Knight Chapel. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until service time at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Rev. Billy Ray Stonestreet will officiate.

Mrs. Biggers was born, raised and a longtime resident of Philipp, MS. She worked as a postmaster of Philipp for 28 years and co-owned a business with her husband. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Act Sr. Adult Group and the Wallace Sunday School Class. She played the piano for her Sunday School Class and also for Indywood Glen Personal Care. She was preceded in death by her husband's George Buchanan and Allen Biggers, grandson Ronnie Buchanan and great-grandchild Nicole Safley.

Mrs. Biggers is survived by two daughters Helen B. Safley of Vicksburg, Frances Beverly of New Orleans, LA and son Robert Baily "Bob" Buchanan of Phillip, MS. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, twenty one great- grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Walter Safley, Richard Safley, Robert Buchanan, Shelton Raner, Pound Lamb, and Ron Bookbinder. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Henry Flautt, Dr. Rafique, Ronnie Sanders, Sam Pittman, the Wallace/Stewarts Sunday School Class.
