Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30-11:00 a.m in the church.
Sandra was born in Port Gibson, MS on August 9, 1950, to the late William "Billy" and Blanche Billingslea. She graduated from Port Gibson High School and continued her college education at Perkinston Junior College and later Mississippi Delta Community College and Valley State University. She held a degree in Cosmetology, and later served children in the Greenwood Public Schools as a teacher assistant for many years.
Sandra was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for over 40 years. She loved her church and worked tirelessly in her dedication of her strong faith and commitment to serving others. She will always be remembered for the love she showed in so many ways to everyone she met. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend. Many knew her as "Momma C" and then of course as Memaw. Sandra will leave a legacy of always cooking for family, friends, and the church. She loved the Halloween Carnival at the church, where for many years, she enjoyed cooking spaghetti for the Spaghetti Supper Fundraiser. Her children often called her spaghetti sauce famous since she was always making batches of sauce to give to friends and family. She also enjoyed working alongside her husband, Paul, helping the Knights of Columbus with their annual Fish Fry.
In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Billingslea, her sisters, Pam Billingslea and Terry Ross, and her granddaughter, Ashley Ellett.
Sandra is survived by her family that will miss her deeply. She leaves her husband of 53 years, Paul Joseph Correro, Sr. formerly of Greenwood, MS, and her children, Jennifer Correro Ellett (Spencer) of Saucier, MS, Paul Joseph Correro, Jr. (Tina) of Gulfport, MS, and Paula Correro Pearson (Josh) of Hernando, MS. She was a beloved Memaw to her grandchildren, Jacob Spencer Ellett (Amber), Brittany Ellett Ballard (Marshall), Vincent Paul Correro, Melissa Lynn Correro, Emily Suzanne Pearson and Tyler Monroe Pearson. She had twin great grandsons, who she absolutely adored, Jaxson Richard Ellett and Kace Wyatt Ellett. Sandra was also blessed with many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Honorary Pallbearers are her grandsons and great grandsons, Jacob Ellett, Vincent Paul Correro, Tyler Pearson, Marshall Ballard, Jaxson Ellett and Kace Ellett. The Knights of Columbus, Greenwood Council, will also serve as Honor Guards.
