Sara Frances Swindoll, 92, of Greenwood, Mississippi, died Monday, August 3, 2026, at Golden Age Nursing Home. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Father Greg Plata, OFM, will officiate the services.

Mrs. Swindoll was born October 1, 1933, to the late Johnny Zametto and Sarah Lusco Zametto in Greenwood.  She worked as a nurse for the Leflore County Health Department, Golden Age Nursing Home, and Garden Park before her retirement. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. She loved to cook, especially brownies and chess squares, shop, and send cards to her friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, and husbands, James Edward Bailey and Joe Swindoll.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan Bailey of Greenwood, MS, and Elizabeth Melton (Dennis) of Acona, MS; sons, Ricky Bailey of Mendenhall, MS, and Bill Bailey of Grenada, MS; brothers, Nathan Zametto of Nashville, TN, Charles Zametto of Orlando, FL, and Frank Zametto (Judy) of Bastrop, LA; grandchildren, Katie Collett (Boogee), Laine Staten, Brian Bailey (Bethany), Matt Womack (Courtney), and Kristen Steele (Tim); and eleven great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Melton, Boogee Collett, Donnie Whitehead, Mike Barth, Brian Bailey, and Matt Womack.

The family extends a special thank you to Jackie Johnson her caregiver for the past five years, the staff of Golden Age Nursing Home, the staff of Adoration Home Health, and Dr. Nause and his staff.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to a charity of the donors choice.
