Sharon Elaine Carpenter Carter 61, of Horn Lake, MS, formerly of Carrollton, MS, died Sunday, July 22, 2018 at her residence. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, July 27, 2018 at Enon United Methodist Church Cemetery in Carroll County. Visitation will be 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. Friday, July 27, 2018 at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS. Rev. Keith Ramage will officiate.

She was born February 18, 1957 to Jiles Thomas Carpenter and Mary Gladis Potts Carpenter. She took care of her family through her life. She was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Carter of Horn Lake, MS; daughter, Shelley Shankle Schalk of Horn Lake, MS; son, Donald Joe Shankle, Jr. of Omaha, Nebraska; sister, Janet Carpenter Potts of Carrollton, MS; mother, Mary Carpenter of Carrollton, MS, and two grandchildren.
