Shirley Alford Overley , 77, of Greenwood, MS, died Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Greenwood Leflore Hospital. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Visitation will be 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home. Father Joachim Studwell, O.F.M. will officiate at the services. Wilson & Knight Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Overley was born April 30, 1940 in Greenwood, to S.J. Alford and Willie Mae Buford Alford. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church where she served as the secretary of the ladies auxiliary. She was strong in her faith and attended Mass every day at Immaculate Heart of Mary. She was an avid bridge player and LSU fan. Mrs. Overley was part owner of S/W Electric LLC and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wade "Woody" Overley and her parents.

She is survived by her son, Sammy Overley and wife, Debbie of Greenwood, MS; daughter, Pam Tackett and husband, Dale of Greenwood, MS; sister, Delores Erwin of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Ashlea Overley Galey and husband, Michael of Greenwood, MS, Wade Tackett and wife, Jessica of Hollandale, MS, Brad Overley and wife, Lacey of Jonesboro, AR, Eric Overley and wife, Ashley of Collierville, TN, Neal Mitchell of Ashville, NC; great grandchildren, Luke Galey, Jane Galey, Benton Tackett, Harper Overley, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Robbie Upchurch, Mike Upchurch, David Upchurch, Raymond Acy, Barry Acy, and Lee Hamrick. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of S/W Electric.
