Services for Shirley M. Schroeder, 82, of Greenwood will be held at St. John's United Methodist Church at 11 am, Saturday, March 7th, officiated by Dr. Billy Ray Stonestreet. Mrs. Schroeder passed away peacefully March 2nd surrounded by her loving family.
Shirley was born July 29, 1932 in Saint Louis, MO. She enjoyed several residences throughout the United States, including the states of: Texas, Georgia, California, Missouri, New York and Mississippi. She was a member of St. John's Methodist Church for over 38 years which she served faithfully in the Women's Bible Study groups and children's bible studies. She truly cared for most everyone one she met. Shirley enjoyed volunteering regularly at Beacon Harbor and Golden Age Nursing Home. Shirley was a devoted Braves fan, an avid reader and loved her many pets. She always enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her loving husband Robert Edward Schroeder, and her parents, Frank and Clara Ritter along with three brothers.
She is survived by her brother Ralph Ritter of St. Louis MO along with his wife Marge. In addition to, her sons, Kurt Schroeder and his wife Kaye of Greenwood, Robert Schroeder of Bridge City Texas. Her daughters, Shari Michlitsch and her husband Dennis of Atlanta, Lisa Sayle and her husband John of Lake Cormorant MS. Along with eight grandchildren, Brian, Melissa, Morganne, Brandon, John, Erin, Sarah and Clara and five great grandchildren, Hannah, Kylie, Hudson, Madelyn and Nolan.
Visitation will be from 9:30 am – 11:00 am Saturday, at St. John's United Methodist church. Grave side services officiated by Dr. Billy Ray Stonestreet, will be at National Cemetery in Corinth, MS. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's United Methodist Church in Greenwood.
