Stella Jackson Campbell

June 6, 1930 – February 17, 2022

Stella Beatrice Jackson Campbell passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 17, 2022, surrounded by her daughters at the age of 91.

She was born in Carroll County, MS, to John and Carrie Jackson. She was a graduate of Valley High School.

Mrs. Campbell was a dedicated employee of BellSouth and AT&T, until retiring in 1989, after 40 years of service.

Stella served faithfully at Calvary Baptist Church for over 60 years, where she also taught Sunday school.

She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and also a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.

Stella was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a caring and loyal friend and most importantly a woman with a strong, Christian faith.

Stella was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Garland L. Campbell, her parents, John and Carrie Jackson, and sisters, Hazel Campbell and Lucille Patterson, as well as two brothers, J.W. "Buddy" and Harry "Josh" Jackson.

Stella is survived by her two daughters, Anita Campbell Morgan (Gene) of Holcomb, and Shirley Campbell Conner of Sidon. She is also survived by four grandsons, Garrick D. Conner (Michelle), Keith R. Conner (Gayla), Kris Morgan (Sherry), and Brent Morgan (Danielle); two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Caroline Conner; three great-great-grandchildren, Madison, Matthew, and Carson Miller; and two special nephews, Bernard and Greg Jackson.

Pallbearers will be Bill Gardner, Jr., Roy Smith, Michael Britt, Benny Rigby, Ethan Boatman, and Byron Campbell. Gene Morgan will serve as honorary pallbearer.

The family expresses gratitude to special friends and caregivers, Daisy Harper, Chris Accardy, and Ora Sims.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Moore's Memorial Cemetery in Teoc. Garrick D. Conner and Hal Clark will officiate the services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Greenwood, North Greenwood Baptist Church, or Moore's Memorial Cemetery Fund.

Wilson and Knight Funeral Home is in charge.
