Steven Michael Goodwin, of Greenwood, Mississippi, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 1, 2023. Visitation will be held at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home on Friday, March 3, 2023 from 12:00 PM till 2:00 PM with funeral services at 2:00 PM.

Steven was born on December 14, 1953 in Greenwood. He was a graduate of Pillow Academy and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He married the love of his life, Debbie Smith Goodwin, on September 18, 1976 and soon had their daughter, Heather, and eventually beloved granddaughters, Rainey (8) and Hadleigh (7) whom the sun set and rose on for Steven. He loved taking all of his girls to his cabin where they fished and explored the landscape he loved so much in the country.

Steven opened Steven's BBQ in 1997. Cooking and serving food was his passion. He could light up a room and brought laughs everywhere he went. Steven retired from the cafe in October 2021. We were all blessed to have him in our life and there will never be another like him.

Steven was preceded in death by his father, Bill Goodwin.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Edith Goodwin; his wife, Debbie Smith Goodwin; his daughter, Heather Goodwin Davis (Bo Davis); granddaughters, Rainey and Hadleigh Davis; sisters, Debbie Goodwin Robinson (Buddy) and Becky Goodwin Marble (Robert); and many other loved ones.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Weeks, John Ray Robertson, Mike McClellan, Bill Venture, John Malouf, and Pete Buchanan. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
