Thomas Edward Ewing, 78, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 31, 2022, in Starkville, Mississippi with his children by his side.

Tom was born on February 24 ^th , 1944, in Greenwood, MS.  He attended Sewanee Military Academy and subsequently served as a First Lieutenant in the Mississippi Army National Guard 20 ^th Special Forces Group.

He was also a member of Greenwood High School's class of 1963 and spent his time in Greenwood operating the family-owned radio station WGRM.  He was the longtime radio voice of both Greenwood High and Pillow Academy athletics. He also managed the family radio station in Rayville, LA and broadcast basketball for Ruston College.  Following his time in Greenwood, Tom resided in Key Largo, FL working as a SCUBA Course Director for PADI and as a charter boat captain.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Fayette Clay "FC" Ewing IV and Francis Groover Ewing, and his brothers, Fayette Clay Ewing V and Robyn Barton Ewing.

Tom is survived by his three children, Thomas Edward Ewing, Jr and his wife Allison of Collierville, TN, Elizabeth (Kitt) Ewing Bailey and her husband Jason of Starkville, MS and Michael Drew Ewing and his wife Jessica of Starkville, MS.  He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Grant & Maggie Ewing, Stella & Celia Bailey, and Myles & Tanner Ewing.

Services will be held at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 22 ^nd at 2 p.m. with visitation beginning at 1 p.m.

Tom loved dogs and the family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to the Leflore County Humane Society 1810 Cypress Avenue Greenwood, MS 38930.
