Tom Paul Calhoun III, 73, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 27th, 2021 after battling a brief illness. Tom was born in Greenwood on May 28, 1948, to Tom P. Calhoun Jr. and Tommie Taylor Calhoun. He graduated from Greenwood High School in 1966 where he was a standout athlete and named Most Versatile his senior year. After high school, Tom finished his undergraduate studies at Delta State University followed by graduation from the University of Mississippi School of Law in August of 1973. He was well respected in the field of law, earning numerous achievements throughout the years. One honor he was particularly fond of was the recognition he received from his colleagues by enrollment as a FELLOW of the Mississippi Bar Foundation in 2014. He continued to practice law passionately until his passing.

Tom loved the Ole Miss Rebels, and spending time with family and friends. He leaves behind many fond memories of family vacations, celebrating in the Grove, and enjoying time on the golf course. As a father, he enjoyed taking his children to ballgames, hunting, and he especially enjoyed cheering them on in sports and other activities while at Pillow Academy. As a husband, he enjoyed spending time at home and traveling with his wife and their dogs who he loved dearly. He was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church of Greenwood.

Mr. Calhoun was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Vivian, and his children, son, Taylor Rhodes Calhoun (Allison) and daughter, Callie Calhoun Kidder (Sidney). He was a caring grandfather to five grandchildren, Miller Thomas Calhoun, Alli Rhodes Calhoun, Emery Birdsong Kidder, Conrad Rhodes Kidder, and Merritt Anease Kidder.

Visitation will be held at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 1st at 12:00 pm. A funeral service will immediately follow in the chapel at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Dr. Scott Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery on Carrollton Ave. in Greenwood following the service.
