Obituary

Virginia Daves Trotter passed away peacefully from this life to be with her heavenly Father on March 3, 2016 at Indywood Glen in Greenwood, MS. Services will be held on Sunday March 6th 2pm at the Wilson and Knight Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Reverend Glenn Davis will officiate.
Mrs. Trotter was born August 27th, 1926 in Black Hawk, MS, to Mallie Earl and Elma G. Daves. The family moved to Greenwood during the Great Depression, and she later graduated from Greenwood High School. She and her husband, Guy Trotter, owned and operated Guy's Fish House in Vaiden, MS, until their retirement. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed deeply and loved her time spent with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She also enjoyed greeting her customers at Guy's Fish House.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Williams C. Daves and Mallie Earl Daves Jr, and two sisters, Willie Mae Daves Skelton and Theresa Daves Blake.
She is survived by a daughter, Rachelle T. Bright (Carey) of Coffeeville, MS, a son, Guy Daves Trotter of Fulton, MS, a beloved niece, Carolyn Hankins (George) of Greenwood, MS, five grandchildren, Kimberly G. Putman of Mooreville, MS, Anna G. Carpenter of Winona, MS, Jessica T. Everett of Tupelo, MS, Adrienne B. Taylor of Abbeville, MS, Natalie B. Sewell of Prosper, TX, nine great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Sonny Blake, Danny Hankins, Henry F. Skelton Jr, Billy Daves, David Earl Daves, Herbert Jones Jr, Robert Grant Hubbard, and Stephen Hambrick.
Visitation will be from 12pm until service time. The family would like to thank everyone at Indywood Glen for their love, care and compassion shown for our mother and family. Also a special thanks to Continue Care Hospice staff.
