Wallace "Bo" Van Meter, Jr. 77, of Carrollton, MS, died Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at his residence. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton, MS. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2017 at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Rev. Keith Ramage and Rev. Sam Riddell will officiate the services. Wilson & Knight Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Van Meter was born July 30, 1939 to Wallace and Mary Van Meter in Marvill, AR, and was the owner of Van Meter Company. He resided in Carroll County most of his life and served in the United States Marines. He enjoyed fishing and working throughout his life. He was preceded in death by sister, Shelby Martin, brother, Stanley Van Meter, and his parents.

Mr. Van Meter is survived by his wife, Betty Nabors Van Meter of Carrollton, MS; three stepchildren, Tina Sanders and husband Cliff of Coila, MS, Ricky James of Greenwood, MS, and Kerry Van Meter of Nashville, TN; three nieces, Mary Baldridge and husband Lin of Lexington, TN, Paula Smith of Brownsville, TN, and Catherine Rogers of Pensacola, FL; two nephews, Jim Jenkins of Chattanooga, TN, and Stanley Van Meter of Orlando, FL; five step grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and one great- granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be Caleb Green, Cole Green, Michael Flowers, Mitch Edwards, Codie Shuffield, and John Bailey. Honorary Pallbearers will be Carl Clark, Dr. Charles Nause and former employees of Van Meter Company. The family would like extend a special thank you to Halcyon Hospice, and his caregivers Sylvia Townsend and Evelina Jasper.
