William A. "Bill" Allen died unexpectedly at his home in Carroll County on August 23, 2015 at the age of 83. Services will be at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church located at 348 County Road 41, Carrollton (Teoc), MS. with Brother Laney Haley officiating. The service is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. with visitation at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow the service at Moore's Memorial Cemetery. Visitation is also scheduled at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home on August 26, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Mr. Allen is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gloria "Sue" Rutland Allen, daughter Cerise Allen Barrett of Cleveland, MS, son William A. "Al" Allen of Grenada, sibling, Barbara Allen Colvin of Greenwood and six grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Mr. John Allen and Mrs. Annie Laura Fielder Allen along with his brother John S. Allen.
Mr. Allen attended Valley High School, Holmes Community College, and graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. After a successful professional career, he retired and became an accomplished gardener sharing his produce with friends and neighbors. He was an active and dedicated member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Allen, Kip Allen, Nick Ladner, Nicholas Ladner, Wesley Ladner and John Rutland.
