William Grady "Billy" "Bube" Denton, 66, of Greenwood, Mississippi, died Saturday, August 15th, 2026, with both of his daughters by his side. Graveside services will be held at 9 am on Wednesday, August 19th, at Teoc Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Carroll County, MS.

Billy was born May 29th, 1960, to the late William Oliver "Billy" Denton and Virgie Mae Thornburg Denton in Greenwood.

His love for the restaurant industry began as a teenager in the 70's, when he worked at Delta Burger in Greenwood. He went on to own and operate Delta Burger and Alleycat's Café. He also managed Sonic in Vicksburg. Billy also worked as a police officer for the Greenwood Police Department.

There was never a dull moment when Billy was around. He was always quick-witted; he could tell you the hard truth wrapped in humor and was a straight shooter. Later in life, when asked what he enjoyed the most, he'd say, "My TV and my recliner". He also enjoyed visits with his daughters and granddaughters.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bobby Denton, a sister, Carolyn Denton Nester, and son-in-law, Glen Salley.

He is survived by his daughters, Rachel Wright (Trey) of Grenada, MS, Katie Salley of Grenada, MS, and their mother, Alane Nokes of Grenada, MS; sister, Dixie Murphy (Freddy) of Carrollton, MS; brothers, Chucky Denton (Megan) of Clarksdale, MS, and Robby Denton (Lea) of Greenwood, MS; granddaughters, Ava Moorman, Fiona Moorman, Emmie Wright, and Mollie Wright; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be nephews Tyler Murphy, Price Murphy, Casey Murphy, Ricky Denton, Jim Nester, Colby Denton, and Rustin Moore.
