William Burnell Taylor, a life time resident of Carroll County, peacefully passed away on July 27, 2015 at the home of Kyle and Crystal Adams. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home and visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton. Bro. J.C. Stokes and Bro. Ed Saunders will officiate.

Burnell is preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years Shelia Kay Benefield Taylor, his father Benjamin Oscar Taylor, and his mother Lenora Odean Brown Taylor.
Burnell is survived by his brother Larry (Barbara) Taylor, 2 nephews, and 2 nieces. Burnell is also survived by a daughter through love Crystal (Kyle) Adams and there children Nikki, Maddison, and Bubba, Anna (Jimmy) Irwin and children Cale', Deuce and Will. Burnell has so many, adopted by love, families that he always called his own. Most holidays were celebrated with Mike and Dixie Carpenter and their children and grandchildren. So many people were touched by Burnell through the love and affection he always showed. Burnell kept three people very close to his heart and they were his brother through Christ, JC Stokes and his two sisters through Christ Lurean Stokes and Kathy Cox.

Burnell worked as a local gas man for Bennett's Butane until 1994 when they were bought out by Scottane. When his wife, Shelia's health started to decline he joined the beat 4 road crew
under Bobby Cobbins, whom allowed him to work and still be available to take care of his wife. Four years ago Claude Fluker became the supervisor and Burnell's boss. We can not say enough about what a wonderful boss and friend Claude is not only to Burnell but to all whom he employs. No matter where Burnell worked he made everyone his family and loved each and every person. Burnell is an active member of North Carrollton Methodist Church.

Pallbearers will be Cliff Thatch, Claude Fluker, Robert Joiner, James Woodson, Terry Cox, and Robert Covington.

Honorary Pallbearers are the Bridge Crew, Beat 4 Road Crew and one very special man that was always there when Burnell needed help with anything Scott Montgomery.
