William Jeffery Jones, 63, of Carrollton, MS, died Sunday, March 22, 2026, at UMMC in Grenada, MS. Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 26,2026, 2:00 p.m. in New El Bethel Cemetery in Lafayette County. Visitation will be held Thursday, 10:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood. Dr. Jim Phillips will officiate the services.

Jeff was born on December 19, 1962, in Memphis, TN, to the late Robby Ray Jones and Shelby Murphree Jones. He retired from Jones Flying Service as an ag pilot after 40 years.  He enjoyed performing aerobatics at air shows and was the youngest person to receive Pilot of the Year award from the (MAAA) Mississippi Agriculture Aviation Association. He was a member of North Greenwood Baptist Church, and loved fishing and watching motorcross racing.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Watkins Jones of Carrollton, MS; sons, Justin Jones and wife Brittany Jones of Madison, MS, and Hunter Jones of Carrollton, MS; brother, Timmy Jones and wife Alma Jones of Minter City, MS; sister, Cindy Sulton of Grenada, MS; grandchildren, Addie Grace Jones, Nan Jones, and Lucy Jones; and a nephew, Eli Jones.

Pallbearers will be Eli Jones, Hunter Jones, Timmy Jones, Justin Jones, John Sanders, and Robert Precht.
