William Calvin Neill

Greenwood, MS

Bill Neill, age 71, was born February 15, 1952, in Greenwood and passed away at midnight on Monday, April 24, 2023, in Grenada at the UMMC Hospital.

He graduated high school from Pillow Academy in 1971 and briefly attended college at Mississippi State University. He had many interests including racing, music, motorcycles, duck hunting, and the love of his pets, family, and friends. He adored his children, grandchildren, and great grandchild, and he was dearly loved by all who knew him. He enjoyed being a farmer on the family farm (Willow Run). He also had a passion for driving, which he did for many years.

Bill was the son of the late Eugene and Kathryne Johnson Neill of Greenwood. His grandparents were Mr. and Mrs. Absolom Calvin Johnson of Greenwood and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Cothran Neill of North Carrollton. He is survived by four children, 5 grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Daughter, Jennifer Neill Watkins (Tommy) of West, their son and daughter, Thomas Wayne "Waye" Watkins (Taylor Grace) and Georgia Taylor Watkins. Waye has a beautiful newborn baby girl, his first great grandchild, Lillie Kathryn Watkins. Daughter, Lisa Neill Turnipseed (Parker) of La Grange, IL, and their daughter and son, Anna Parker Turnipseed and Aven Neill Turnipseed. Son, William "Will" Calvin Neill II of Greenwood. Daughter, Mary Claire Neill of Madison, and her son, Elvis Lee "Eli" Jennings. Two siblings and their spouses, Sister, Leigh Neill Macy (Richard) of North Carrollton, and Sister Eva Lillian "Tis" Dean (beloved Ralph) of Oxford. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he loved. He was preceded in death by his brother, Hank Neill, and his niece, Laura Kathryne Macy.

Services will be a time of friendship, fellowship, and a celebration of Bill's life on Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 4-6 p.m. at the home of Richard and Leigh Neill Macy 13078 MS Hwy 35 Carrollton, MS 38917.
